Renowned for its radiocontrast agents like Amipaque and Omnipaque, Nycomed expanded globally through strategic acquisitions, including Altana Pharma in 2007. In 2011, it was acquired by Japans Takeda Pharmaceutical Company for 9.6 billion, enhancing Takedas presence in Europe and emerging markets.
